An event dedicated to the presentation of the AZERBAZALT Research and Production Association and the AZCHEMCO company was organized in the Lower House of the British Parliament with the support of Baroness Emma Nicholson of Winterbourne and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
According to Report, innovative projects of the companies in Azerbaijan were presented, along with plans to expand the geography of project development towards the West.
The event was attended by delegations from the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Co-Chairman and Business Development Director of the British Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan Howard Lyn, Chairman of The British-Kazakh Society Rupert Goodman, ex-Chairman of KazMunaiGas Alik Aidarbayev, Development Director of P&O Maritime Radostin Popov, delegation of the global consulting and construction company MACE, representatives of the largest UK law firm Freeths, representatives of the largest UK bank HSBC, Managing Director of Iraq Britain Business Council Christophe Michels, representatives of the National Composites Center at the University of Bristol and many others.
The cooperation between AZERBAZALT and AZCHEMCO began with the signing of a Memorandum in November last year. The companies are actively working on joint projects to dissolve basalt powder and use it as a liquid fertilizer and as an ingredient used in painting the exterior of buildings to reduce the influence of solar radiation, as well as heat exchange inside the building, thereby affecting the reduction of energy consumption. These projects are promoted by the natural properties of the basalt itself.
In September 2022, AZERBAZALT Research and Production Association LLC won a tender for the operation of the Chaykand basalt deposit in the Goygol district with an area of 10.8 hectares.
AZCHEMCO generates ideas and projects in the areas of supporting norms and standards in the field of food safety in the country based on international requirements, improving the provision of safe and high-quality food, improving food safety and quality, competitiveness and export potential of the country, the production of fertilizers and plant protection products, as well as conducting awareness-raising measures for their proper use. Last year, the company presented its projects within the framework of EXPO 2020 at the Azerbaijan Pavilion in Dubai and the CAMCA Forum held in Washington.
